Whereas: “Snitch & Seize” Gun Confiscation bills pits Alaskans against each other in an Orwellian surveillance state that strips Alaskans of their rights, liberties, property, and their firearms;
Whereas: SB 49 incentivizes targeting, silencing, and disarming Alaskans by anonymous accusers without trial or jury;
Whereas: any “Pre-Crime Gun Grab” law will violate law-abiding gun owners’ due process and Second Amendment rights;

Stop SB49 — Defend Your Gun Rights!
Alaska Gun Rights strongly opposes Senate Bill 49, a dangerous piece of legislation that threatens the constitutional freedoms of every law-abiding Alaskan.
SB49 would allow employers to request “Workplace Violence Protective Orders” against individuals based on vague, unproven allegations — without the accused ever getting a chance to defend themselves. These ex parte orders could be used to strip away your Second Amendment rights and ban you from owning firearms, even if you’ve committed no crime.
🔴 Innocent until proven guilty? Not under SB49.
If this bill passes, a court could impose firearm bans and lasting restrictions — all without a conviction. All it takes is an accusation from a boss, coworker, or political opponent.
🔴 Free speech under attack.
Peaceful political activists could be labeled “threats” and targeted simply for expressing their views. This bill opens the door for abuse, censorship, and political retaliation.
🔴 Vague language = Dangerous power.
SB49 doesn’t define “threats” or “violence” clearly — meaning almost anyone could be caught in the crosshairs of this reckless policy.
