• Allows firearm restrictions without a criminal conviction
• Permits ex parte orders before the accused is heard
• Allows employers to initiate “protective-order” proceedings
• Uses civil standards rather than the criminal burden of proof

HB 222 was heard and passed out of Judiciary Committee, 5-15-2026.
